Yes, but they appear to be practicing and perfecting that perfect "V" shape in preparation. Fortunately it more resembles the number "7" if you look closely.

Let's hope for a long decent autumn season with a gentle "ease" into the dreaded season that comes after that.

There's been a lot of geese flying around the last little while - no direction, just around. The farmers are busy harvesting and there's plenty for them to eat in the fields. Plus I think the young have just mastered flying - not too long ago they were still taking their sweet time sauntering across the road.

Hard to believe it's early September with the high 20's temps the past few days. No frost in the forecast, but after that hail a couple weeks ago it doesn't matter much - the garden's a complete mess now anyways and as soon as it cools off (!!) I'm going to start some fall cleanup.

It is hard to believe the temperatures now, and no frost. I think i'm ready for fall cleanup, though. The petunias in containers are tired, it seems - nothing is going to save them. They're just going to get dumped one of these days.

Yes, that fall clean up is just around the corner. I'm getting sick and tired of watering things, so some containers may get dumped sooner than later.

Funny thing is that at the beginning of August some news person here was taking about the geese heading south already and thus predicting an early you know what. Hmmmm, those geese must have just been out practicing that day! LOL

Not that long ago I saw a humming bird yet so I'm leaning towards the Environment Canada predictions! Besides, I like that one better anyways! LOL

I am definately getting tired of the watering routine too but at the same time thankful that there is no "F" word around here yet. I'll keep some things going yet but others will be yanked out soon.

Ang, i filled our hummingbird feeder on Saturday, so of course, the hummingbirds have left now. :) Oh well - last year we had a few visitors after ours left, so the feeder will stay for awhile.

Well there have been geese flying every which way here...so I don't know what taht means as far as what to expect weather wise! I guess they are just confused at the 30C temps we have been getting in the days and the 3C nights for the last week.

Yesterday I was out back weeding and deciding where to move some stuff before the bark mulch goes down and I pulled out a TON of floppy poppies...I have a huge pile of them out back by the composter. I have to try and save the seed for my "Drive by Planting" next spring!

They're just probably picking up their buds for the big trip soon.
