Hmm, I've never had to spray Sugar Apples, so I don't know the answer.

I have had Citrus defoliate completely, after I used Ultrafine oil, so I try to avoid using it.

Maybe you could spray 1 branch and see how the flowers react?

I may try that. I only see it on one branch. Wish I didn't have to spray at all...

Do not spray blossoms with anything, ever, if you want fruit.
If there is scale on the trunk you can spray that with oil spray. Or a shampoo and water mix. Don't hit the leaves or flowers though. Is it snow scale? Pantene Pro V Clarifying shampoo mixed with water works well.
Sugar apples are pretty hardy.
Aren't they just delicious!

Leaves drop from using an oil spray due to photosensitivity .
The oil reacts with the sun and burns the dickens out of leaves .
Ultra fine horticultural oil is a bit safer to use in that regard than the heavier Neem or Volck oils .

Use an oil spray when fruit trees are dormant or late in the season .
Use a VERY dilute solution of water to oil .
Use the oil spray late in the day .
Try to use it when temps will be below 80 degrees -
I know - not easy in zone 10 .
And the most important of all - read all the directions on the package and follow them carefully !
