Perhaps go to some growers, I do know Clair personally, [see link below] he loves the Trailman Crab....me too.
I planted a tree for my Daughter in Fort McMurray, they are super hardy.
He grows many others, I'm pretty sure, the Norkent, September Ruby and Norland should do OK.

I saw an article in the paper this week about someone in Anchorage selling their apples this year...I think it mentioned that he grew them in his greenhouse, though. I didn't realize that several people grew apples in greenhouses here, but many varieties grow fine outside.
I live in Wasilla, and grow: Norland, State Fair, September Ruby, Harcourt, and at least one other that I can't think of right now. Many people in the area grow apples.

Check with the Extension Service. Âhere is a Fruit Growers Society in Southcentral, mostly in the Mat Su. Also a small orchid at the bottom of Rabbit Creek Road
