My Min/Max thermometer at home had a low of minus 5C.

The tenders got dug up after their tops got blackened.

Don't like our forcast too much either... but my crazy kids get excited about the S*** in the forcast (apparently they mentioned it on the news this morning.... I wasn't listening! LOL) and they were so thrilled that maybe the outdoor ice rink would be up & running again soon.... GRRRRR KIDS! anyways....

Oh, the difference a day makes. Take a look at this, now. For those of you that missed my post yesterday, the long range Edmonton forecast was predicting the temperature to plummet to about -5 next Wed. and snow for 3 or 4 days. Now, it's completely different and quite tolerable with no snow in the forecast. Who knows? I'm just going to go day to day and when it gets here, it does.

Ang, I've got a 16 yr. old pestering about snow so that he can go snowboarding. It doesn't get any better as they get older. lol

Our forecast is still nasty, but they probably have to wait and see if Alberta's is right before they change Northwestern Ontario's!

Well, considering that by this date last year we had almost a foot of snow that closed highways and schools, I'm pretty darned happy with the weather that we've been having!!

And yes, my boys were THRILLED with the white stuff, for as long as it lasted. ;^)

The white stuff would be okay if it didn't last for six months. :(

Yeah, I'd be more than happy with a 3 month winter!

Our forecast has that ugly period too, next Thurs and Friday. Remember, however, that the further they go into the future, the more unaccurate their forecasting ability is. Heck, sometime they have trouble forecasting six hours in advance, never mind 7 days. I find it humerous when they forecast a partly cloudy day and then it starts to rain. Suddenly, when you check the forecast on their website, they add in "30% chance of showers".

Oh well, I guess at any rate this will be a "clean up the yard" weekend. I just can't believe it's already one week into October, but hoping we have a long mild autumn.

Exactly, Glen. The Weather Network on the computer said no rain last night, but there it was coming down. Then when i checked the computer later on, they suddenly expected a millimetre of rain. LOL

I just put the dogs out for the night and the snow has begun....Is it bad that I am not really upset? I finally finished the deck today , the garden is pretty much done for the winter...all I have to do is wait for a really hard freeze to mulch my roses.
I want to go snowmobiling so I realy hope we get lots of snow this winter.....and its better for the pants if we have lots of snow too....

I spilled a vodka cooler on my keyboard a couple of weeks ago (hubby's friend did actually) and now my L key sticks....bugger....

Well, I know it isn't as snowy here as Northern Manitoba, but it seems odd to have a bit of snow on the ground and the deck is slippery and crunchy with snow and ice. My Morden Sunrise rose, marigolds, geraniums are still blooming.

I forgot about my hanging begonia basket and brought it inside. I see that the soil is frozen so the bulbs might be toast. I didn't bring it inside sooner because it was still blooming and I was waiting for a hard frost to kill the top growth. When I first brought it inside it sort of looked like an artificial plant, the stems and leaves are still green but coated in ice.

Well how fitting it is that we finally got our snowy rose picture the morning that it was -7C here! Definitely a killing frost. I hope my calla lily bulbs aren't frozen solid in a pot :(

We have our snowy rose? All i have is a skewed picture of those petunias, still. Probably the snow that did it. :) We didn't get as much as they said, but it's cold out there. I didn't even look at the temperature this morning!
