I know where you're coming LL, after being laid up for most of last year and the first couple of months this year the garden turned into one big mess. Thankfully I'm back up on my feet and slowly I'm making some headway.

I just did the initial digging out of one bed, although not a big one I dug two and some wheelbarrows of weeds and plant roots out. It looks bare right now with the exception of a tree wisteria, this will be moved in the fall. I'm sure there's still buttercup and lily of the valley roots I've missed so I think this bed will stay empty until the spring, make sure I've got all those.... roots out.
I got the back forty (forty steps from our back door) cleaned up and looking decent. This little area is where my raspberry bed is and a couple of raised beds full of SOME of the pole beans I'm growing this year.

A lot of cleanup still to do and I still can't help bringing home more plants, I tell you it's an addiction, my pot ghetto is growing by leaps and bounds LOL. I hope the weather holds and we have a decent fall, I should be at least make a big dent in what still has to be done.

Weeds invaded my compost pile too, esp. ground ivy. Today I pulled gobs of it out. Then I threw down some straw and shoveled dirt ontop of it. Next year or two there should be more great soil there.

I have not weeded as religiously this season as I have in the past and it shows. Been either to wet or too darn humid to get out there. Today the temp was cooler.
