I don't have any rhodos, just a couple of azaleas which I try to cover with snow. I would think that a burlap cover would be appreciated by your rhodos, especially with the chinooks that you guys get. Let us know how well they do come spring, ok?

rickb, there is a little squippet of information about Rhodos in Calgary in the link below. I would think that burlap would be a smart move unless it's in a really sheltered location & we get lots of snow cover. (Both difficult things to find in Calgary!)

How did you get along with your rhodos in Calgary? I've planted some this year. I'm amending the soil with sulfur to make it more acidic. But, I'm worried that this won't be good enough. (Our soil is very alkaline - 7.5 Ph.) Maybe I won't get flowers...? Please let me know.
