I guess nobody's tried it, although there's not many of us here anymore.

I'll bump this down.

I would just try and see, any wood around here you can burn I would
think, make sure it is dry, about a year I would wait after pruning.

Thanks Konrad. I'll let it dry until next year and then try it out.

We only use our fireplace once a year or so. I do,however, like to have a bit of kindling and firewood on hand, just in case the power ever goes out when it's really cold out. I wouldn't want to have to burn the diningroom chairs =:)
