I bought a Tashkent from Raintree Nursery this spring. I am not real happy with it. It is not growing as well as the other fig trees that I planted at the same time. The leaves are a yellow green and are falling off. I have sprayed it several times for rust. There is a few figs on the tree. I had to stake the fig tree, because it kept leaning over. I have pinched the top of the tree to try and get it to spread out. So far it has not cooperated from my pinching.

I have one planted this spring also and it is behaving just as you describe. One fig on mine. I haven't pinched mine. Hell, it hasn't grown enough to pinch.

I concur with both Vern and Glen that Tashkent is
a slooow grower.

The leaves on mine are yellow-green too, and it just doesn't look healthy in general. Thought maybe it was FMV but the leaves don't seem to be deformed. It's planted in the same ground where everything else is thriving so I don't see how it could be a deficiency in the soil... everything has been mixed and tilled enough that it should be uniform. Recently I've noticed rust but haven't done anything about it. Had three figs but only one now, and I doubt that it will mature without falling off. Maybe next year will be better.

Glenn, it sounds like we are in the same boat with this fig tree. I am with you hoping that it will do better next year.
