breba figs drop

Hello,

I have a tree that gives a reasonably good main crop of green figs, but each year the breba figs get to about 0.75 of an inch wide and then fall as the main crop just begins to form. Is this normal behaviour for some varieties? I started my tree from a cutting taken from a tree (unknown variety) doomed to destruction by a mining development. What variety could it be? It has a very lobed leaf and produces figs that turn yellowish green when ripe with a pink centre, up to 1.5 inches wide.

Thanks
