Growing a fig tree

I live in Southern CA. Today whilst walking I found a plant with the largest leaves I have ever seen - on closer inspection I found fig like growths on the body of the plant...

1. Anyone have any idea what this type of fig plant is?

2. How can I now move along to grow a tree from the figs I gathered - anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
