Another Swap! May 9

I'm planning on hosting a swap at my house this year on May 9 in Inverness, Citrus county. Inverness is about a 1 1/2 hour drive north of Tampa, about the same east of Orlando, and a little less then a hour south of Ocala. I had originally thought to have it on April 28 but someone else beat me to it! lol

I had some success with one a few years back and would like to have another one. Swaps are great for getting to know other gardeners in the area!

If anyone's interested we can have a BBQ lunch at the same time.

Now I wonder what low-down, no-good, dirty-rotten gardenwebber beat you to it! Oh wait, that was me. :o) Some of the people who can't make April 25th will be happy you are following up in May.

Count me in also as one of the Delandites to come. If we get lost, ill_man knows how to ask for directions in five different languages. I think he can possibly say "cold beer" in at least eight.

seven. and that's BEFORE the cold beer.

Kara-Definitely count on me for your swap! I so enjoyed getting to meet you at my last two swaps I feel I can only return the favor and come see you this time! I can see I need to really get more plants started so I can make both swaps!

I've put it on my calendar and hope to make this one! Yea!
Don't know what I'll have to trade but by then there should be some good stuff.

Someone has to look good while stranded on the side of a major highway .
I volunteer to hold down that position on the DeLand bus - again !
I am already packing my survival kit - just in case .

Count me in. I'll be coming form Ocala.

gardencpa, you beat me to the date by one day! Oh well, at least this way I have a couple extra weeks to get some of my projects done before the swap! lol

It doesn't matter how much or how little you bring to trade just as long as everyone has fun! I liked how Susan's had a drawing for prizes at each of her swaps so I thought I'd borrow the idea for my swap. The prizes will be various pieces of garden art that I'll make between now and the swap date.

Closer to the day I'll send out e-mails with my address and directions on how to get to the house.

kara, I knew if we talked about this long enough we could make it ill-man's fault. He encouraged me to post it asap so people would have time to get cuttings and seeds started. Otherwise I would have procrastinated. (lol) It looks like it will all work out well though. I am excited that we are have two swaps. More fun for everyone.

Hi there! My name is Sarah and I also just replied for the swap on the 25th. I'm so excited to meet other gardeners from around where I live! This is great of you both. And I'll have something to do with all the extra seeds I bought. I'm kinda new to gardening and the pictures in the catalogs are irresistible! Can anyone attend or do you all know each other already?

Sarah, you are more than welcome to attend. I met my closest friend at the first swap I ever held at my house and found out that she lived only a mile from me. Swaps are a great way to meet other people who have similar intrests as yourself. As for the seeds, once you see my collection you probably won't think you went so overboard! The only difference is that I collect most of my seeds myself from plants in the wild, from my garden, and from friend's gardens (with their permission of coarse!). My friend's find my obsession with seed collecting very amusing! lol
