It would probably be a good idea to remove the fruit. I was just removing some today that I thought won't ripen this year. In my climate the ones I don't remove will ripen next year. In yours they may not ripen anyway. I removed mine because the tree is young and I don't want to over stress it. Anytime a tree is not at full strength (like when it is young or just planted) picking off the fruit will help the plant to become stronger. I had a couple of young plants that I picked all the figs off of this year as they formed. Those plants responded with a lot of healthy growth. I would think that picking off the fruit would help your plant.

I agree with Joe. I would pick the fruit now. You can snip them off or just grab and twist.
