Where are you?

Your county's cooperative extension should be able to tell you the last frost date. Don't bother with zone - it's often misused and has nothing to do with first and last frosts. Asking neighbors is another idea. They might know.

I was looking at my house plants yesterday and thinking about which ones are going to the greenhouse soon.

Last freeze depends entirely on WHERE!

In Northern Virginia average last frost day is April 30th,
two and 1/2 hours east of here, in the Northern Neck of Tidewater Virginia the last frost happens on March 30th.
In my hoop house the last frost(I pray...) was two nights ago.
I'm moving transplant tomatoes that have been growing under a light since December 14 into the hoop house on Monday.
Some cucumber plants too. I've got peas in the out door garden, planted Saturday. It was beautiful here in Northern Virginia on Saturday Mar. 10. Temp in the low 60's.

The way the weather's been lately, August 1.

Robin- I was overly enthusiastic this year in Maine with such a warm winter but now that is is snowing all through April- August might be right- argh

6" of new snow this morning. My husband and daughter are going to spend four days on the Allagash next month. We're seriously wondering if the snow will have melted.

Last Freeze of 2007 will be late on Dec 31 2007 just before New Year's Celebration.

It is always that way.

It will never freeze.

There will be, however, rain. Sometimes several inches in a day, so the plants have to be tall enough they won't get flattened.
