Celeste is smaller and much sweeter than BT. Celeste's eye also stays greener longer than a BT's eye (a good way to tell them apart).

You may not always get the variety you bargained for from the larger nurseries. I spoke with the owner of a nursery that supplies the HD, Lowes and Walmarts in my area. He told me he gets bundles of cuttings from a supplier "somewhere in California", and he just pots them up. He has no idea whether the cuttings he is getting are correctly labeled or if they contain stray cuttings from other varieties. One of my Celeste trees was labeled BT in the nursery. The other was labeled Black Mission.
