Four Season Vegetable Gardening

Each fall, literally thousands of green ladybug looking insects seem to look for shelter inside homes. Fortunately for me, they prefer the 100 year old rental house next door to our newer home. Are these things really lady bugs and beneficial? They are a pest this time of year. This morning, I found one on the cucumber plant inside my new greenhouse. Since I never heard of green ladybugs, I squashed this invader and will have to be on my toes for more. I'm thinking it might have come in when i opened the door. Any idea what these insects are?

Cucumber beetles, maybe? Google for their images and let us know if your insects look like that. If they do, they are a pest.
They could also be Asian ladybugs but those are usually yellow.
