Dear forum,

I have recently bought a fuschia which was on its last leg in the nursery. It still had a few flowers on it (a mixture of white and purple). most of the branches and leaves were nearly dry but one small section of it was slightly healthy looking.(it had no bugs but had evidently suffered some trauma) i have two other fuchsias in pots- one on the patio, one in the garden (thay are doing beautifully in filtered shade and all the other necessary care such as daily showers - i live in an extremely hot climate) and i wanted to save this one- as nutty as it sounds. i once read that cutting off parts of a fushia can harm it. should i prune it? if so, where and how much? any advice would be greatly appreciated. i also realize that it may only really be " better next year.
