I am sure that not every fuchsia grower works on the principle that once the plants are sold it doesn't matter what happens to the plants.

There are other 'tricks of the trade' when plants are being sold and for many years growers have been using chemicals to 'dwarf' plants and you will find in the second year the growth is not the same and the plants grow quite large.

Fuchsias are 'gross feeders' and need to have access to plenty of feed, you need to feed with a high nitrogen feed in the early season, a balanced fertilizer in the middle of the growing season and a high potash feed after the last stop (pinch).

The size and amount of the blooms will increase with the extra feeding.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the valuable information. :) It has been so hot and humid here in the Northeast for the past few weeks I have been extremely busy watering my huge flower and vegetable garden. Thank goodness we are finally getting a bit of much needed rain! :)
