Once I grew kniphofia here or "red hot poker". It was OK. But only flowered early in the season, and didn't re-flower...took up a LOT of space, often had messy leaves....

I grew it because someone in Candler Park also grew it, and theirs only flowered once a season too, also for a fairly short time.

Have you every grown a cultivar of this that is more floriferous, has nicer foliage? Flowers late season?

I don't know if it was just me, or our climate, not right growing conditions, or what? If something is going to take up that much space it better put out or get out.
