do you know the date for the Gwinnet Tech sale?

The Hosta Society will have their sale in May at the same time as the Cut Leaf Show. They are just outside of Gwinnet, at I-78 and Brockett (just before I-285). They have the best hostas you could want to find outside mailorder.

I'm not sure of the date, but I think it is towards the end of their quarter...maybe March or April. I plan to call them in February and find out. I'm sure they have just started the seeds on most of the plants, so they would find it funny to have someone call about it now!
Every year, my parents read about it in the AJC and they tell me. This year, I want to be prepared and take some time off from work. :)

I love Hostas, but I'm in one of those "full sun only" neighborhoods. Do you know of any hostas they might have for full sun gardens?

What the heck is a "full sun only" Neighborhood? Have they outlawed trees!?!

Probably just cut them all down. Time to start planting some trees I guess, efam. Meanwhile the lighter the color the more sun the hosta can usually take I think, you still need to avoid afternoon sun regardless or you will have lovely brown edges.

Please keep us informed on the hosta sale.

Sorry Ilikemud! I thought everyone knew about the "Full sun only" neighborhoods...they are all the rage in the suburbs. The builders will clear every tree on the property...I guess to avoid dodging trees while building and to make a little extra money.
I have some young trees, but it will take years for them to provide ample shade. Ironically, my neighbor who never mows their yard has a garden full of hostas...not sure how she does it, though. Maybe it's the five foot tall weeds...
