i haven't had passionflower vines before this year, but the one i have at my own house and the ones in the gardens of people i work for haven't shown the least sign of dying back :)

Interesting. The ones I've had have always died back.

Mine tends to do well down to 25º-30º. Below that there is always a bit of die back. I have actually seen some winter growth on mine this year. Prunning large vines in early spring will help produce more flowers for those planted directly in soil. Root bound, potted plants seem to bloom the most for me.

Thanks vroomp! Bit of spring pruning it is then. I I can propogate the cuttings since it did such a lovely job covering one arbor.
