I've always grown my flowers in containers, this is my first year growing them in the ground. I have about 2,800 sq. ft. of perennial beds. What I'm seeing is lots of Chickweed, Henbit and what I think is Bittercress mutiplying like wild fire all through my flower beds, some places more than others of course. Been trying to stay ahead of them as best I can. But I wanted to ask if I should just wait till spring and get them all then or just try to keep ahead of the ones that are right next to the flowers I have in the ground, around the stem etc.....It looks pretty terrible but that's not what I'm worried about so much now as will they choke out the perennials I have in the ground now....Will they die back in the spring anyways?...and even so, if I should get them all now if you can or just wait till spring?.....I prepared the beds correctly I think, killed the bermuda with roundup, tilled in about 17 yards of a good bed mix and then transplaned about 200 or so plants back in the early fall. Haven't seen few if any grass clumps, just these winter weeds I guess you'd call them. How do you folks handle these?

Would appreciate any thoughts you have on this. I've certainly learned this year so far that weeding containers and weeding flower beds is two different things....

If it matters the flowers in my beds are coneflowers, coreopsis, Autumn Joy, rudbeckia, Joe Pye Weed, Becky daisies, cardinal flowers,veronicas, bee balm and a few dwarf viburnums.....thanks in advance for any advice you might have.
