looking for fill dirt for raised garden area

does anybody know where i can get free fill dirt, preferably delivered? i'd pay for delivery if necessary but i'm trying to do this inexpensively. I'm building a raised area around a pond, for a shade garden, and while i can afford topsoil for the garden i can't fill in the whole raised area with that. crappy ol' clay would do, even. i'm in the decatur area.

As you drive through the neighborhood, look to see if there is any new building going on or if they are knocking down any houses to build new ones. Most times these construction sites have some dirt to spare. If that doesn't work, try Craigslist.

A landscaper told me about 81 Inert in Atlanta. Last week, I got fill dirt wholesale delivered to Atlanta from 81 Inert (Gwinnett). I estimated that I saved around $75 per load. I got 3 dump truck loads of clean fill dirt and quality topsoil. Here is the number 770-466-3676, Gregg was the guy to speak with.
