You have what is called a 'regal' pelargonium. Unfortunately, the best time to prune this type is in the fall because she will already be putting on new growth for flowers now and if you prune her now you will lose alot of blooms. Try feeding with a 15 30 15, regularly and if they get too rangy for comfort, then cut back some of the longer stems and make cuttings but you should get a pretty good show of blooms soon with feeding. Or you could cut it back and make new plants from the cuttings, planting them near the mother. Also, the regal/martha washington types don't tend to flower as much as the zonals, but I don't care-- I have many of the regals and think they're infinately prettier than the 'regular' ones! I'm in pretty much the same zone as you, also. Up here outside San Francisco, our fall isn't much different than our spring...and they're the only 2 seasons we have! LOL
