I purchased 3 Kansas Peonies, Bearded Iris, 6 Daylilies for new beds - everything is planted and looks beautiful! Thank goodness for nice weather and a brake from rain.

BTW, Home Depot honors competitors' coupons, so it is good for just about anything - garden center or not.

Oh, that's great. We need manure. So I could buy some plants and more potting soil, use the receipt to go directly back in and get the manures. Excellent!

I went last night and used the coupon (not all on plants). They currently have their cheapest topsoil on sale for 88 cents a bag at the one near me. Also a bag of cypress mulch is on sale (also at home depot) - but there are so many questions about the source of cypress mulch (cutting down trees in coastal areas which need those as buffers during storms) that I just can't bring myself to buy it. Much better to buy pine products that are plantation grown just for this reason.

But the topsoil is good and has lots of organic matter in it.

dang! I missed this one. But despite the throwaway prices I cannot buy Cypress mulch knowing what the process does to the swamps.
