No I just saw it the other day and my first reaction was "oh man you better get all that Poison Ivy off of your fence." She has two small kids and is clueless about anything gardening related and was asking me for some advice as to what to plant along her new deck. The leaves do not look like trumpet vine, they are more oval shaped. At first I thought maybe there were two different vines growing together but I did see the same leaves on one of the hairy vines.

How about Decumaria barbara? Although mostly deciduous, there are still some leaves around on my vines.

Thanks I think that is what it is, I would hve to go look at it again in later spring to know for sure but I actually had seen that in the woods behind my house and forgot about it's hairy roots, so that would make sense. How easy would it be for me to steal some from her? Can I just cut off a section? It is growing across her gate so I know she will need to cut that part off, can I root it from that?

I have not propagated it. It seems pretty willing to live (if you know what I mean), so I would just try to get a section with some roots. Or take a cutting and dip it in root hormone and try that. I have a few in pots - ones that popped up where I did not want them (like in the path) and could always share them with you.
