Edna, around here there are a couple of John's. One, with the useless "h" and one without. Between the two of us we should be able to help. But, whoa, that picture is not exactly the best. However, I, the one without the "h" will give it a try. It appears to be a codonanthe. This is a genus of vines with smallish white flowers, usually with color in the throat. Most of them are species, generally from Brazil or Central America. The Brazilians tend to be more cool tolerant. The Central American types generally are from low elevations and are warmer growers.

I will climb way out on a limb and say that your plant could possibly, perhaps be C. gracilis. If so, the wirey stems will grow long and the leaf pairs will be somewhat spaced down the stems. The leaves are somewhat longer than wide. The other species that is popularly grown is digna, which has small succulent roundish leaves, making a smaller plant than gracilis. If it is digna, then there are several forms. Both of these species are from Brazil. More photos are welcome and may help in narrowing down the ID.
