I have dug up my geraniums, shake off the soil, and place in a paper bag and store in my basement (probably 50-60 deg). In March, I pot them up and about 75-80% will start new growth.

Thank you Hopflower for the Garden Gate link. I watched the video and it was very informative. This is the first year I have tried to save my geraniums. I took cuttings and used root hormone and placed the cuttings in potting mix. The cuttings are in the house, but the leaves are beginning to yellow. Some look alright though. Is it just easier to dig the whole plant and follow the instructions from Garden Gate? I'm trying to be a frugel gardener, but sometimes it doesn't always work.

You can always try to root some cuttings as well as follow the video; it is worth trying both of them in my estimation.

Thank you for the video! I bought geraniums last spring on clearance. They were half dead but they came back to life beautifully. Recently, it got cold and they started to turn brown so I was about to toss them. I came to see if anyone could tell me what kind they were so I could find more.

After watching the video I thought maybe there was still hope for them (wintertime is about 50 degrees, the same temp suggested. I cut into a few branches and they're still green! Here's hoping they can come back. Thanks again!
