No advice on the seed pots, but what a beautiful, healthy strep! Send us more photos ;-)

I have posted a picture under the title Wendy. It has some more leaves now though. It is a great strep. It has the firmest leaves ever and flowers loads compared to my other two. Their leaves are always drooping lately, what with the heatwave we have been having.

Seed it of course!

It will be Wendy x self. Sprinkle just a bit of seed on the top of light slightly humid soil in a covered container - and you will have babies all ovver the place.

Can I cut it off and let it open in a tray or something? It is currently on a windowsill over the kitchen sink and I am worried about it opening and all the seeds falling into the sink! The whole stem is pretty dried up now, so I doubt it is getting any moisture from there.

I love this plant, more of them would be great!

Swiss, put a ziplock baggie over the whole pod, so that when it does explode, it'll be contained (at least mostly).

You can cut off the seed pod when it starts to dry. Put the pod on some paper or in an envelope to collect the seed as the pod unravels. Even if the pod is left on the plant, and splits open, much of the seed can be collected from what doesn't fall out. After a long time, though, all the seed will be lost. It is not uncommon though, for spilled seed to germinate in the pot. Like all gesneriads the seed is very fine, and in large quantity. Each seedling raised will be different from the parent, as it is a hybrid.
