Star Jasmine

Is Star Jasmine the same thing as Confederate Jasmine? Is it invasive?

I have purchased one for my trellis, however before I plant it, I want to make sure it will not take over my yard.

Last time I made a mistake of planting Trumpet Vine - huge headache! It was a job and a half to eradicate it.

Thanks!

Natalie

As far as I know, the two ARE the same.

I have both confed. jasmine and trumpet vine -- rest assured, there is no comparison! The trumpet vine is trying to eat the yard!!!! :)

The jasmine is much more well-behaved, but you do need to prune it on occasion. Mine is growing up and around our lightpost, next to a knockout rose. Sometimes it tries to grow up into the rose -- I have to watch that! But in general, it is very nice!

Smells and looks absolutely gorgeous in bloom! Has nice shiny leaves all year -- new growth is a brighter green that screams spring!

It has been evergreen for me as well.

    Good luck!
