contact nursery landscape places that are doing new construction (I know there aren't many) but in our neighborhood, we've collected over 250 pots of varying sizes then they put in a new landscape for new homes. We just went up to the workers that morning and asked what they were going to do with all the pots, they said 'throw them in the dumpster' and we asked if they would stack them all together and we'd come back and get them that evening. That's what they did and we got 'em.

Some we used, and the rest we redeemed for credit at our local nursery. We had over $40 in pots this past fall. I couldn't stand to see them go to the landfill (we are HUGE recyclers) but it was icing on the cake when I found out we could get $ for them.
