Planting roses....

A nursery told me that usually people planted roses after Easter...I have several Knockouts and a few other types that have been in their original container for a few weeks...lots' of their leaves are yellow...what causes that? a lack of sun? nutients,or should I just start digging holes and plant them?...that won't be so easy since our soil has so much gravel in it...don't want to lose them to our crazy weather changes...

I'm calling this my year of experimenting with roses...

What roses can you suggest (other than Knockouts)...that would repeat their blooms all summer? and I want a beautiful red climbing rose...

Thanks for any suggestions.
