MP Flower Gardens

I made a birthday gift to myself - visited MP Flower Gardens on Birmingham Hwy in Alpharetta (Iris and Daylily farm). Daylilies are not opening up yet, so I will make another trip in June when they are in bloom in order to see colors. Irises are just beginning to bloom, and I "invested" in a bunch of Tall Bearded ones.

Can hardly wait to plant them - owners say they use Nature's Helper for planting, since they enjoy good drainage.

I am so thrilled - happy Birthday to me!!! :)

Ohh, there IS an iris place in Georgia! I must go! How wonderful. If you want something less expensive than nature's helper try the soil conditioner at Lowes. Same thing with a "discount" brand and off name!!!

GGG, I did not know Lowes offers soil conditioner under their name - will check it out. I use a lot of Nature's Helper in a garden, and mix it with soil, existing red clay, add as a mulch, etc.

I recently bought a bag of Soil Conditioner at Lowes - I was pleasantly surprised with it. The texture is a little more coarse than Nature's Helper, but I liked it. It is like finely ground mulch, doesn't looked "composted" at all. I will definitely get it again.

These people are very nice and generous - Patty and Mark, and if the rhizomes were on a smaller side - they would give me extras.
Beside, seeing their gorgeous property was a real treat!
