Pollinating question

This is a silly one maybe...but I get a lot of fungus gnats under my grow lights. They don't seem to hurt my streps at all, and I was wondering...could they pollinate??? I have a strep that seems to be developing a seed pod. Can a pod develop if there has been no fertilization. Thanks for any help. I hope those little gnats have done me good.

Streps can self pollinate - especially if you shake the flower. or touch it when watering etc.

Thrips will pollinate for sure - since they are after pollen.

I looked up about what the adults gnuts eat - and they only live for 7 daays, drinking water or nectar - and female lays up to 1000 eggs. So - the pollintaion by gnats is possible but not very probable.

You do not need gnats, their larva can eat roots - so it will be better to control them. I think Nancy R. recommended drenching the pots with a weak Clorax solution. Look it up.
