It's spring and I'm grounded

My dh and I just returned from a caribbean cruise. I came back with an ankle fx and strained knee ligaments via a moped accident.

Anyway, I CAN'T get out to work in my yard. BOO-HOO! I did get my backyard cleaned up in early March....added new mulch and pine straw. I'm itching to get out to walk my backyard to see what's coming up. I can walk on my leg, but really need someone out there with me for saftey's sake.

I have a very good friend coming this weekend to help me get my deck pots planted and to plant some things in the ground that I bought a couple of weeks ago. Plus, I just got two shipments of plants in.

I could just SCREAM!!! I'll be out of work for 6 weeks and except to be up walking better in the next two weeks, so I won't be kept out of my yard forever.

Sorry to hear that! I can't imagine. Hope it happened at the end of your cruise so you were able to enjoy most of it! If you're nearby Alpharetta, email me and maybe I can come help you out.

Michelle, that is very sweet of you to offer, but I think I'll be covered with gardening help. BTW, we had two days left on the cruise and I still continued to have a great time.

A gardener's nightmare! I'm so sorry to hear that you can't get around as well. I hope it all heals as quickly as possible.

Sharon I broke my foot in the late Fall and couldn't garden all winter. It sucked. However I took control and after a few weeks began do to gentle exercise and worked on it myself. I was told no gardening and possibly a cast for a YEAR! I used my yoga foot moves and was walking in two months with no cast, back to work and in the garden - no other therapy needed!!

Work slowly and very, very gently to get your muscle to support your ligament and you can do it!

Yuck! And at one of the worst times of the year. I'm glad the damage wasn't too bad and that you won't be out all year.

Yeah baby listen to GGG and work that ligament. Pain is the key to sucess... Not over indulged pain, I just mean just enough. What is enough or too much you'll have to learn yourself but G-girl has attested to the power of self healing.
I hope you learn to work on it and get well ASAP, we need more green for better air and better CHI and to cleanse our karma! Lots of love,

Thanks for the advice. Foruntately! I have several friends who are physical therapists and they are monitoring my healing / need for exericse very closely. I have an MRI of my knee on Tuesday, so hoping no damage will be noted, just stretched ligaments.

I'm going to try walking in the yard later. I'm doing SO much better than I was earlier in the week.

Little plants.....here I come!!!!

Oh, being laid up and with a computer...two bad combinations. Last night I ordered a plumeria plant. No telling what I might find today to order. I can then guilt my boss/friend into coming over to plant for me....ha.
