The names of a large number of Saintaulia species have been changed in the recent treatment of Gesneriaceae for the Flora of Tropical East Africa by Iaian Daryshire. The total number of species in the genus is now 6 (down from about 20). The name changes are summarized in the Wikipedia article on Saintpaulia (see link) but in a nutshell, many of the species are now recognized as subspecies of Saintpaulia ionantha, e.g., Saintpaulia rupicola is now Saintpaulia ionantha subsp. rupicola.
