The stem coloration reminds me of Curcuma Scarlet Fever. Mine has a slight red coloration on the leaf midrib also. I don't see it in yours. This ginger goes dormant in the winter and returns in the spring. Has it bloomed for you? If so, what does the bloom look like? Somehow though, the leaves don't look right for a curcuma.
