African Costus

I picked up this Costus, C. dubius, as a weed. It is an escape in some areas and does quite well. I thought it would have trouble surviving outside of a garden at my place so brought a small cutting home.
It took off in no time, but that's because it's getting regular irrigation. It flowers at the base of the plant, unlike some of the other Costus which flower at the ends of the stem.
