Well It doesn't look too good but I'm going to wrap my episcia stand in plastic tomorrow. My episcia are starting to show signs of distress too.
I left a couple episcia outside for the summer. This fall they held on and stayed alive until the temp. went down to 42 degrees. I was most impressed!

I keep mine in glass bubble bowls.Rocks on the bottom, set the pot on top of the rocks. Epecias need humidity ,as well as light and warmth. Cover the top. and occasionally remove the lid. Put water on the rocks. have never tried them outdoors. Good Luck

SOME episcias fold leaves down when given too much water. SOME EPISCIAS fold leaves up when an attack of mite is happening.

Check with jeweler's loupe for mite near center growth if leaves are folded up.

There are a couple of very old varieties that seem to tollerate low humidity and cooler temperatures better than most but more demanding ones have to have the high humidity and lots of warmth, and all are sensitive to temperatures much below 60, though it's just the last couple of years I've had some planted with my palms and in the shade , that seemed to like being outdoors in the summer, though we did get some of our usual 50+ and even 40+ nights, and they seemed to tolleate that. Years ago though in CA, I put a hanging planter outdoors, as I'd been cleaning and forget and left it out over night , when it dropped into the forties and the next day the plant was totally wilted , though in moist soil , and it never recovered, since it went in to "root shock" I'd imagine. The fanciest ones are difficult even under ideal conditions, I'd guess. Sometimes that curling (if it's not connected with wilting) is a response to light conditions as well. The older varieties which I have now and which seem the hardiest are cupreata "Acajou". and I guess the plain green leaved cupreata is much hardier as well.
