If the fertilizer you used was too strong, the new leaves would drop. Maybe leave tip burned is the same reason.

Another reason of the leave tip become brown is that the water and the soil you used is too alkaline. Most plants like the soil and the water pH is weak acid, like 6 to 6.5. If the pH is over 7, it would burn the leaves.The typical sign od the high pH is that the tip of the leave become brown.
Try to use weak acid soil for your plant.
For the water you use, if the pH is really high. Try this method. Use the water with two table spoons of vinegar in one gallon water.

Hmm,.. Wliu57, That did sound a very plausible reason. So I immediately put in some coffee beans I had at my hand, to bring in some acidity to the soil. Let me see for a couple of days. I sincerely hope the problem gets solved, and the poor dear resume its previous good growth. Very much appreciate your prompt reply though, Thanks.

It's also possible that even though you're bringing it in for the night, the leaves are still getting cold and burned by chilly winds. If the damage isn't too great, I'd say live with it, otherwise, bring it in for the winter and don't try to extend the season any longer -- jasmines just aren't going to grow or bloom as much in a northern winter, even with days outside!
