Worm-like growth on Kohleria Strawberry Fields

Hi, fellow gessneriad addicts,

I was checking out my Kohleria Strawberry Fields last night and found these wild and crazy thingies which must be long rhizomes curling around the top of the soil. They favor green pipe cleaners, and one has a little plantlet at the end. Another is a couple of inches long, and there are shorter ones, about 3/8", attached to the base of the plant. As in achiminese rhizomes, can I cut these up and get a new plant from each segment?

Thanks again,

Betty
