I've grown this plant before (mostly in an outdoor tub or border) for the long tubular white, fragrant flowers. This summer I was surprised to see that the flowers were a uniform pale pink. The plants were grown from held over tubers and I'd swear the flowers were the typical white last year.

Descriptions of S. tubiflora from online sources have the flowers as being white, maybe with a slight flush of pink towards the base. But mine were uniform pale pink to the tips, unmistakably the form of S. tubiflora.

Is this a common variance due to cultural conditions?
