Overwintering Container Dianthus

Hello everyone!

I'm a new gardener, apparently headed for a life of scented plant hoarding. I've just gotten a little dianthus (early bird frosty), which claims to be hardy to my zone 5 garden. I'm not ready to put the little beauty in the ground, though, because she's in bloom and impossibly fragrant and I can't stand the idea of sending those blooms out to die just now.

Is it possible to overwinter one indoors as a houseplant? Will I need to force it into dormancy at some point, once its still-going-strong blooms give up?

Thanks for your help!
-Rebecca
