I hope it's not too late- we just had some fescue sod done in our back yard- I would think the biggest problem will be to make sure it has enough water during the summer. Our back is too shady for other grasses. We had a lawn service do ours but sod is probably available at the nurseries or Home Depot and Lowes.

Sod now is not a big problem. Seed however, is another story. Fescue sod should be well watered until the roots grow down into the soil below. This should only take a few weeks. Best to water in early morning as opposed to afternoon and evening to allow time for moisture to evaporate or soak in. This will keep fungus and molds from growing at night. Hope you have some mixed soil instead of clay fill in that drepression so those roots will find some easy path downward.

The fill dirt I put in in my depression - How do I grade it correctly? How do I compact it to make it level for laying sod? Any suggestions?

the best thing to do is hire a tractor with a box blade to grade the yard correctly. It's not mandatory that you go to this expense but if you don't just be sure to get all the lumps out. I'm curious to know where you got the fescue sod. I have never seen fescue sod for sale in this area, only seed.
