Peanut Plants

Have you ever heard of a store selling peanut PLANTS? I had not! My friend just called from her new job and said Bates Ace Hardware on Howell Mill in Atlanta has peanut plants! We were both astounded.

So if you are looking to plant peanuts, they have 'em! I have no idea of the cost. But when I shopped there in the past the prices were reasonable for other items.

You could be absolutely right! I've not heard of perennial peanut before, and these did not have anything on the tag. It would not surprise me if they came from Sunbelt growers, I haven't ever bought from them, but I know the Ace stores do have options to purchase from them.

I bought peanut plants from Pike Nurseries for 99 cents apiece. They like loose acidic soil and when their leaves turn yellow at the end of the summer yank them out of the ground and there will be peanuts all over in the roots.
