First year I've noticed a pest on my Iris foliage. Mostly on the Bearded varieties but others too. I'm familiar with daylily aphids and thought this might be a type of aphid too but maybe ya'll would know better.

They are dark grey, small but easily visible and oval-shaped. They seem to cluster on the backsides of the leaves and where ever they are eventually little bleached spots appear I'm assuming from them feeding. I've tried the soapy water spray I use on daylily aphids but so far it doesn't seem to phase them. Aphids? Mites? Something else??
