Loropetalum question

I have a couple of Loros on either side of my stairs to the front door. They're the purple kind and generally grow to 5-6' if left alone. We transplanted them last fall. There was new growth on them that died back. I pruned back the dead new growth several weeks ago. There are leaf buds (I think) that have been there unchanged for at least 2-3 weeks. I believe the plants are still alive. How much longer should I give them to leaf out? The foliage that survived the transplant is pretty dry.

Thanks,

Pam
