I, too, was amazed to see most of the annual begonias I had in my flower beds never did die this winter! They just kind of shrunk back and were partially hidden under some fallen leaves. Also, some dahlia bulbs that were supposed to be dug up for the winter survived and are coming up lush and beautiful. However, I suspect the extremely mild winter may be responsible for some varieties of my hosta looking smaller than usual. The weather has been so wierd in recent years we just never know what to expect!

Very interesting, I too had begonias survive that were in pots. It was the mildest winter in my records, but even so, begonias surviving in containers...I never would have guessed! I also had an Alpinia(ginger) bloom for the first time in almost 7 years due to the very mild conditions. This was one very great benefit of the warm winter!!
