Help to ID a Grass

I have been unable to locate a match for this online or in Greenlee's Encyclopedia, which doesn't mean it isn't there. I thought it might be a Carex, but maybe not. Any help is appreciated.
Photo was taken in Los Angeles this January, in 70 degree temp. The clumps, in a large planter, are about 2-3 ft tall.
