What is this green striped gourd?

Found this guy at a mom+pop produce provider. The seller knew nothing of this gourd other than she said it was "para dulce" or "for candy."
Acorn shape. The inside looked orange similar to a standard jack (maybe a bit pale, but not yellow), mild in aroma. Going to try it in a pie this week and if enjoyable, I'll growing it this season.
