Rain

Yes, we had rain last night, and a huge thunderstorm. I think it rained hard for about three to four hours. I went to bed after the storm started, openend my bedroom window and listened to the thunder and the rain, and drifted off to sleep with a smile on my face. Have been in the garden this morning pulling weeds, and everything looks good and refreshed. I still have a smile on my face! The rain seemed to have penetrated the soil for a good three inches. Friday night was very different! We had the thunder, lightening and wind, but no rain - and we lost power for 5 hours! I think i prefered last night! Hope you all got rain too.

Got rain too. Only rained about an hour and unfortunately in the middle of the night but beggers can't be choosers.

I had a bunch of rain too. Judging from the pail I left out we got over an inch. I went weeding too, so much easier when it's wet.

Only downside is the 80%humidity. Even though it is cooler and overcast, I worked up a sweat in 10 minutes out there....

My rain gauge showed 4 inches last night!!!! And I had over and inch Friday night. Now it is raining lightly again. Yippee!!!

It's been lightly raining for the past 45 mins. Mother Nature, thanks for responding to my email and sending rain.

It thankfully rained here last night. This softened up the ground a bit, and made the harder rains we recieved today, soak in a bit more. This stopped my basement from flooding! Hurray!
Plus of course, the garden is now much happier, pond is a little more full. My rain buckets are full. I don't have rain barrels yet, so instead I have a bucket brigade! Rain runs off the porch awning onto the steps, so I put loads of buckets out, changing them when one is full. I can save lots of water this way, and the plants much prefer rain water over tap water anyday!
It's thundering again!

I've had 3.87" rain in the last 10 hours and it was MUCH needed. All my hydrangeas were as wilted as I have ever seen them. This always seems to be the way it rains in Georgia, when it rains it pours!

Thank goodness quirky got some. I read this post just to see if he had. I think that part about the mimosas really got to Mother Nature and she came through for you.

I don't have an actual rain guage, but based on the amount that has accumulated in a trash can since Friday night, I'd guess at least 4-5 inches has fallen at my house in N. Fulton (and it's still coming down!). Thank you Lord. Thank you Mother Nature. Thank you Rain Gods.

The rain was courtesy of me. I decided to sacrifice the car and left the windows down on Saturday night, LOL! We didn't get much rain during the night, but it did come down on Sunday afternoon for hours. I wondered whether I would stop the rain if I closed the windows, but it seemed like once it got started it no longer needed help.

Could someone else take on this role next time?

I got 3+ inches (measured by a rain gauge) Saturday and Sunday combined, then it rained again last night! I am in Roswell.Everything looks better!!
